The Sex Worker Programme of PT Foundation is organizing a street carnival called “JOM KE CHOW KIT” and we would like to invite you to volunteer your services.
The theme for the carnival is “WANITA NADI NEGARA” OR “WOMEN ARE THE PULSE OF THE NATION”. The target groups for this event are the women and key affected people who live and work in the Chow Kit area. It is estimated that around 500 people will attend this event.
The Carnival will be held on:
Date : 31st July 2010 (Saturday)
Time : 8.00 pm – 10.30pm
Venue : Parking space facing Wisma Cycle and Carriage, Lorong Haji Taib 1, Chow
Kit, Kuala Lumpur.
“Karnival Jom ke Chow Kit” is a night specially devoted to the marginalised women of Chow Kit regardless of their background. The carnival will provide entertainment, food, information and services to the Chow Kit community. It provides an opportunity for the volunteers and outreach workers of PT Foundation to reach out to the Chow Kit community and to promote the services available at the Pusat Bantuan Khidmat Sosial (PBKS) Center in Chow Kit. PT Foundation have also invited other partner organisations such as the Federation of Reproductive Health Associations, Malaysia (FRHAM), IKHLAS (drug users programme of PT Foundation), Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO), Legal Aid Centre, Ministry of Health (MOH), All Women’s Action Society Malaysia (AWAM), Malaysian AIDS Council (MAC), Suara Rakyat Malaysia (SUARAM), Agensi AntiDadah Kebangsaan (AADK) and the Human Rights Comission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM).
