In 2010 to address the increased vulnerability of MSMs as well as Transgenders to HIV transmission especially in the context of South East Asia, the Insular Southeast Asian Network on MSM, TG and HIV or ISEAN and the Humanist Institute for Co-operation with Developing Countries or Hivos, jointly submitted a regional proposal to the Global Fund Round 10. The Grant

PT Foundation was selected by HIVOS to implement the programme in Malaysia and the programme has gotten off to a flying start with a number of key activities already having happened in December and January.

On the 26th and 27th November 2011 our World AIDS Day event Red Carnival was held at Sungei Wang Plaza reaching out to over 40,000 members of the public with HIV information and providing training to over 250 volunteers on HIV/AIDS and MSM and TG issues.

On December 22 2011 the Programme Inception Meeting was held at PT Foundations offices in Kuala Lumpur with 25 participants from partners and interested parties including UN, Malaysian AIDS Council, TSF, MSM and TG organizations.

In January the programme is expanding and hiring 3 key positions to support the activity for the rest of the year. These are National Training Manager, National Finance Officer and Admin Officer. Full details are available on our website.
